Youth Retreat

With Guest Speaker: Scott Roth

Some of you may know Scott from his seminars at the 2011 Mennonite Youth Convention in Pittsburgh, which were always packed. We are very exited to have him coming to Luz this fall.

This retreat is a fun filled weekend for ALL Sr. High youth groups. We play an awesome night game called Persecution, kick up our heels with the "Fall Fest", and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

There are two ways to register for this retreat. You can register as a youth group (prefered), or if your youth group isn't coming, you can register individually.

Q: What if I don't have a youth group to come with?
A: If you are not part of a youth group, or your group is not coming but you want to, let us know. (our contact info is at the bottom of this page) We will either pair you with another group or get some of our summer staff to come back and serve as your sponsors.

Q: What is "Persecution"?
A: Persecution is a game that is designed to get the players thinking about what it would be like to be persecuted for being a Christian. It is played at night and uses the entire camp. You will want to bring dark clothes because the game involves having to sneak around camp to "safehouses" without being caught by the guards.

Q: Is this retreat only for Mennonite youth groups?
A: No. Although we are affiliated with the Mennonite Church, this retreat is open for any youth group that wants to come.
